Nachdem der FC Karl-Marx Stadt in der Saison 1989/90 zunächst Boavista Porto und in der folgenden Runde den FC Sion im UEFA Cup bezwang, ahnte wohl kein Himmelblauer, dass im Achtelfinale eine ganz besondere Geschichte geschrieben wird. Als Gegner wurde die "Alte Dame" aus Turin zugelost und wenige Tage später ereignete sich der Mauerfall. Während ein ganzes Land auf dem Kopf stand, blieb den FCK Fans weniger als zwei Wochen Zeit, um die erste Auswärtsfahrt im Europapokal zu planen. 400 Schlachtenbummler bahnten sich mittels Sonderzug den Weg nach Norditalien. In dieser Folge sprechen wir mit Guntram über seine Fankarriere, Auswärtsspiele vor über 50 Jahren und das wahnsinnige Gefühl der plötzlichen Reisefreiheit.

Thank you for your interest in the BvB London fan community podcast as every week the focus of the show will be on exploring a facet of Borussia Dortmund's life by talking to experts and former participants of the club's life. People like players, fans and journalists who have covered the club and decision-makers and experts who know the world of all our club well. The aim of the podcast is to make this wonderful football club more accessible to non-German speakers. The podcast may also be of interest to German football fans who want to learn or practice English. Our guests are Dave Mooney who is a journalist and football blogger and host of the 'Blue Moon' Manchester City podcast, the most-established show on the club in U.K and Steffen Karl a former Germany U21 international defensive midfielder who played 348 matches scoring 19 goals clubs like Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund as well as other clubs like Hertha BSC Berlin, St Pauli and FC Sion. On tonight's show we set the scene for the Champions League quarterfinal pairing which kicks off tonight at the Etihad stadium with City as favourites. 1. What should BVB's strategy be? How will City approach the game? There have been 5 ties between the clubs can City beat Dortmund for the first time in their history? What will be City's approach in the face of Haaland? 2.
