Der FC Chelsea ist für sein Leihsystem bekannt. Denn teilweise verleiht der englische Verein dutzende seiner Spieler in einer Saison quer an die unterschiedlichsten Vereine der Welt. Dabei sind immer wieder Spieler dabei, denen viele weder auf den ersten, noch auch den zweiten Blick den Sprung in die erste Mannschaft des FC Chelsea zutrauen. Doch hinter dem Leihsystem steckt viel mehr, als nur die erste Mannschaft des FC Chelsea zu unterstützen. Es ist ein eigenes Ökosystem, das weit über den eigentlichen Wert der Spieler hinausgeht. Der FC Chelsea betrachtet die Fußballer dabei immer wieder als kleine Firmen, ohne die Rolle eines Ausbildungsvereins einzunehmen. Wie das Leihsystem genau funktioniert, hört ihr in dieser Episode.

Der FC Chelsea aus London gewann 2012 die Champions League und zerstörte damit das “Finale Dahoam” des FC Bayern München. Für den FC Chelsea war es jedoch kein Sieg aus dem Nichts. Schon einige Jahre zuvor hatten die Blues eine Hand an der Champions League Trophäe. Denn seit der Übernahme von Roman Abramowitsch hatte sich beim FC Chelsea einiges getan. Große Spieler, große Gehälter und ein ganz besonderer Trainer. Der ganz große Erfolg blieb jedoch vorerst aus. Um die Reise des FC Chelsea zum Titelgewinn 2012 zu begleiten, hat sich Jerome Mäser Zeit genommen. Er ist seit vielen Jahren Mitglied der German Blues und blickt auf die Zeit zurück.

Doch keiner der Kandidaten kann Besitzer Roman Abramowitsch so richtig zufriedenstellen. So taumelt der FC Chelsea fast schon durch die Saison 2011/2012, hat den Sieg in der Champions League dabei aber nie aus den Augen verloren. So gelingt den alten Recken eine denkwürdige Revanche gegen den FC Barcelona und ein spektakuläres “Finale Dahoam” gegen den FC Bayern München. Um die Reise des FC Chelsea zum Titelgewinn 2012 zu begleiten, hat sich Jerome Mäser Zeit genommen. Er ist seit vielen Jahren Mitglied der German Blues und blickt auf die Zeit zurück.

Steven Gerrard und der FC Liverpool standen 2014 kurz vor dem Gewinn der Premier League. Es wäre der erste Meistertitel für den Klub seit 1990 gewesen. Kapitän der Mannschaft war Steven Gerrard – ein Junge aus Liverpool, der nie für einen anderen Verein gespielt hatte. In den Vorjahren war er zur Vereinslegende geworden, und nun sollte die Krönung folgen. Der FC Liverpool spielte in der Saison 2014 mit vielen jungen Talenten, die später zur Weltklasse reifen sollten. Unter der Führung des erfahrenen Steven Gerrard standen Spieler wie Luis Suárez, Jordan Henderson und Philippe Coutinho. Ein Sieg gegen den Konkurrenten Manchester City ließ die Titelträume greifbar erscheinen, doch im Spiel gegen den FC Chelsea wurde der Traum für Steven Gerrard und den FC Liverpool zum Albtraum.

Die Ära von Roman Abramowitsch beim FC Chelsea London ist eine, die den Weltfußball für immer verändert hat. Als Investoren im Fußball noch ein gewisser Wild-West-Charme umgab, war Abramowitsch am Start und stieg beim FC Chelsea London ein. Mehr als zwei Milliarden Euro steckte er in den FC Chelsea London und machte ihn zu einem der wertvollsten Fußballvereine der Welt. Doch damit ist nun Schluss.
